As a child, my father grew up like many kids living in poverty today, not knowing where his next meal would come from, not knowing if he would live to see his 18th birthday, just trying to survive. Life was tough, but the one thing that really helped keep him going even through the hardship was hope and direction. Reminiscent of Hagar, who in her distress said, “ You are the God who sees me”, El Roi  is a song written as a memory and based off of one of my father’s prayers.
